Foundation for the Advancement of Community Education was founded in 2002 in Lahore.
Aims & Objectives:
To promote and strenghten a pluralist civil society that should employ a democratic process as a non-violent instrument for bringing changes
Initializing various awareness campaigns to enhance consciousness, understanding and education on the issues related to human rights, gender and democracy.
To impart education and training to children and women working in non formal and cottage industry.
To watch and monitor incidents, cases, violations of law relating gender discrimination, child abuse, human rights and violence in society.
To provide specific activity in order to generate a regular income for needy women of down trodden communities
Activities:
Organization building among the poor living in slum areas, non formal education for child labor, female literacy centers in rural areas, free legal aid services for women, IEC material about civic and governance issues. Watch and monitoring services on human rights violations. Publishing weekly Pakistan fact sheet.
Mission statement: FACE envisages a society in Pakistan which is socially just, environmentally sound, genuinely democratic and economically productive and equitable.
