Aims & Objectives:
The project is the part of overall process of women empowerment and emancipation that has seen ups and downs but has surely gained momentum with increasing education and awareness among women folk of their rights and how these denied to them. The project aims to emphasis on legal rights of women while empowering them through related activities of other interventions.
Project Purpose
Overall purpose would be to empower women with confidence and awareness of their legal rights and the knowledge how to fight.
Project Objectives
- To highlight the issues of violence against women and create awareness for the legal rights of women to fight against violence besides combating the issue by providing legal support within the project locations
- To develop para-legal support for offering legal help against violence cases within the project locations
- To monitor, study, record and make available violence cases held within the project locations for involving community, elected representatives, NGOs etc. In the struggle to eliminate the evil of violence. With customized computerized database. All data would be computerized for sharing publicly as reference through an internet web site
- To bring close different segments of society including elected representatives, community and CBOs for re-shaping the society norms by eliminating the gender discrimination
- To launch a multi dimensions campaign against violence for enhancing consciousness, self- respect, understanding and education on the issues related to human rights
- To use the influence and respect of village school teachers and local religious personalities by training them for participating in the campaign to eliminate violence against women
- To make violence and honor killings socially unacceptable by attacking the issues from different perspectives (involvement of elected representatives, community through social civil communities, media, teachers training etc).
